Atalanta 3-1 Torino: The Goddess deliver decisive win at Gewiss Stadium

Atalanta beated Torino 3-1 on Thursday at Gewiss Stadium. Both Atalanta and Torino arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Atalanta were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning last match. Torino, meanwhile, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Cremonese. Atalanta and Torino sit 1st, (10 points) and 8th, (7 points), spots respectively, after 4 matches.

Atalanta started strongly in the first half, when Teun Koopmeiners gave them the lead on the 45 minute mark. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a effort from Teun Koopmeiners just before half-time and saw the first half out 2-0.

The Bull took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Nikola Vlasic, at 77 minutes. In the end though, The Goddess increased their lead following another Teun Koopmeiners goal, 84 minutes in so at full time it was 3-1 to Atalanta.

Substitutions for Atalanta included Rasmus Hojlund, Nadir Zortea, Ademola Lookman, Matteo Ruggeri and Ruslan Malinovskyi for Duvan Zapata, Davide Zappacosta, Ederson, Rafael Toloi and Mario Pasalic, respectively. Torino brought on Mergim Vojvoda, Pietro Pellegri and Nemanja Radonjic for Ola Aina, Antonio Sanabria and Demba Seck.

There were bookings for Davide Zappacosta from Atalanta. For Torino, Ola Aina, Alessandro Buongiorno and Nikola Vlasic saw yellow.

Atalanta will next travel to AC Monza, while Torino will face Lecce at home.
