Atalanta 2-1 Sassuolo: The Goddess beat Neroverdi at the Gewiss Stadium
Atalanta’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo on Saturday, was hard fought at the Gewiss Stadium. Atalanta were aiming to improve their league standing after a 2-2 draw against Udinese whilst Sassuolo were beaten 2-1 in their previous match against Internazionale. Atalanta are now in 1st place, with 24 points from 10 matches, while Sassuolo sit in 9th, with 12 points from 10.
Neroverdi started strongly in the first half, with a goal from Giorgos Kyriakopoulos in the 41st minute. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Mario Pasalic producing an equaliser on the 45 minute mark, bringing Atalanta level. However they weren’t finished yet and Ademola Lookman made it 2-1 just before half-time and saw the first half out 2-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 2-1.
