Monza 2-0 Spezia: Monza continue revival with third win in a row

AC Monza banked all three points against the Spezia Calcio in a 2-0 victory on Sunday, at Stadio Brianteo. ASS were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Sampdoria away and Juventus at home, by 3-0 and 1-0 respectively, while Spezia were beaten 4-0 in their previous match against Lazio. ASS and Spezia sit 11th, (10 points) and 13th, (8 points), spots respectively, after 9 matches.

ASS dominated the first half, when Carlos Augusto gave them the lead on the 32 minute mark and saw the first half out 1-0.

ASS once more applied the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Pablo Mari found the net, at 63 minutes, seing the match finish 2-0.

Substitutions for ASS included Andrea Barberis, Dany Mota, Samuele Birindelli, Marco D`Alessandro and Filippo Ranocchia for Gianluca Caprari, Stefano Sensi, Chris Gytkjaer, Patrick Ciurria and Nicolo Rovella, respectively. Spezia brought on Daniel Maldini, Albin Ekdal, Daniele Verde, Kelvin Amian and Mikael Ellertsson, to replace Viktor Kovalenko, Kevin Agudelo, Dimitrios Nikolaou, Emil Holm and Mehdi Bourabia.

There were bookings for Stefano Sensi, Armando Izzo and Filippo Ranocchia from ASS, and M’bala Nzola and Dimitrios Nikolaou, for Spezia.

ASS will next travel to Empoli, while Spezia will face Cremonese at home.
