Milan 2 – Genoa 0: The Griffin succumb to Rossoneri at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza

Milan enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Genoa at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Friday. Milan arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a scoreless draw against Torino in their previous match. Genoa had lost their previous match against Lazio. As it stands, Milan and Genoa currently occupy 1st and 18th spots in the league, with 71 points and 22 points respectively after 33 matches.
Rossoneri started strongly in the first half, thanks to Rafael Leao giving Milan the lead at the 11 minute mark, finishing the first half 1-0.
Milan continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Junior Messias just before the final whistle. The game ended with a 2-0 win for Milan.
For Milan, Junior Messias, Ante Rebic, Rade Krunic, Fode Toure and Brahim Diaz, came on for Alexis Saelemaekers, Olivier Giroud, Matteo Gabbia, Rafael Leao and Ismael Bennacer. Genoa replaced Roberto Piccoli, Caleb Ekuban, Nadiem Amiri, Morten Frendrup and Mattia Bani for Mattia Destro, Filippo Melegoni, Albert Gudmundsson, Kelvin Yeboah and Hernani.
There were bookings for Sandro Tonali from Milan, and Kelvin Yeboah and Albert Gudmundsson, for Genoa.
Milan will next play Lazio away, with Genoa facing Cagliari at home.
