Robert Lewandowski is one of the greatest players of the 21st century. The Pole shot to prominence at Borussia Dortmund and has taken his game to another level with Bayern Munich.

Naturally, Robert Lewandowski net worth has soared over the last few years as he’s leapt from elite striker to perennial Ballon d’Or contender.

It hasn’t been the usual path to all-time great status, and Lewandowski can be considered a late bloomer. He’s still in his peak, tormenting defences well past his thirtieth birthday.

He’s been unfortunate when it comes to some individual awards, but he’s handsomely compensated both in his bank account and with an impressive haul of medals.

Starting with a look at his career, let’s learn a bit more about the Bayern Munich star.

Lewandowski Career So Far

Initially in the academy of MKS Varsovia Warsaw, Lewandowski had to work his way up the Polish football pyramid in his developmental years. He had a brief spell with Delta Warsaw in 2005 in the fourth tier before playing for Znicz Pruszkow.

During his time at the club, Lewandowski top scored in the third and second tiers, earning a transfer in the summer of 2008 to Lech Poznan.

Impressing for the Polish giants, Lewandowski was famously close to a move to Blackburn Rovers, but ash clouds in 2010 stopped the transfer.

Instead, he penned a deal with Borussia Dortmund in June of the same year for a fee in the region of £4 million.

Of course, Lewandowski shone with Dortmund. Jurgen Klopp led the club to back-to-back league titles. Lewandowski spear headed the heavy metal football of Klopp, forming a superb partnership with Marco Reus.

Lewandowski stats were sensational throughout, scoring at better than a goal every other game.

He continued to star for Dortmund, even after signing a pre-contract deal with Bayern Munich. It was the move to Bavaria, though, which shot Lewandowski to another level, as his goal scoring neared the levels of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Playing under several different managers and with the team evolving around him, Lewandowski has been a fixture as Bayern have dominated German football (and won the Champions League in 2020).

From 2015 through to 2022, Lewandowski has scored at least 40 goals per season as he’s chased down all sorts of Bundesliga, Bayern and European records.

Net Worth & Salary

Estimations generally come in at around £70 million for Robert Lewandowski net worth.

The Bayern star is also one of the highest paid players in world football, which should lead to an increase in his net worth over the coming years.

Lewandowski salary is reported to be roughly £18 million per year. Some outlets have claimed the Pole is nearing £400,000 per week, which would place behind only Cristiano Ronaldo and Kevin De Bruyne among Premier League players in 2021-22.

Lewandowski Stats

The Robert Lewandowski stats speak for themselves. He is a goal machine. Lewandowski scored 41 in 82 games for Lech Poznan, a return which most strikers would be delighted with.

He took it to another level with 103 in 187 for Dortmund and has moved into the echelon of all-time greats with 333 in 363 matches since joining Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski has scored over 600 goals for club and country in his career, collecting honours aplenty along the way.

The raw goal scoring output is enough to cement a place among the best players of his generation, even if Lewandowski stats aren’t as well-rounded as some of his peers like Karim Benzema or Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Amid so many Lewandowski stats and records, perhaps his most remarkable achievement was scoring five goals in nine minutes against Wolfsburg in 2015.

Lewandowski five goals in nine minutes is a must-watch, as he became the quickest player to score three, four and five goals in Bundesliga history and the highest scoring substitute ever.

Replacing Thiago Alcantara at the interval with Bayern trailing by a goal, Lewandowski took six minutes to score his first.

He had a hat-trick within four minutes, quickly followed by a fourth and a spectacular scissor kick for the fifth on the hour mark leading to a now-famous Pep Guardiola reaction.

Guardiola’s disbelief didn’t fade after the match, “I don’t understand this, five goals! I have never in my life witnessed something like this whether as a player or a coach.”

In typically understated fashion, Lewandowski didn’t bask in the glory post-match, instead suggesting he got swept up in the moment.

He said, “I am very satisfied, that was incredible. I just wanted to shoot, I didn’t really think what will happen afterwards. Having been one down, we knew that we must improve and score twice at least. But five goals, that’s incredible.

“I don’t know how fast it was, but it was fast. But when you’re on the pitch, you’re just focused on football. After the fourth I looked at the scoreboard, it was the 60th minute and I only thought: ‘Ooh.’”

We might never see a goal scoring bonanza quite like Lewandowski produced in September 2015.
