Unión La Calera 2-1 Unión: Visitors leave empty handed

Unión La Calera defeated Unión Española 2-1 on Monday at Municipal Nicolas Chahuan. Both teams arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Unión La Calera were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 2-1 to La Serena. Unión lost 3-1 in their against Coquimbo Unido. Following the final whistle at the end of the last match of the Primera División Chilena season for both sides, Unión La Calera and Unión are 10th (39 points) and 11th (37 points) in the league respectively, after a total of 30 matches.

Unión started the first half well, with an early goal from Sebastian Jaime in the 2nd minute. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Nicolas Orellana, at 9 minutes brought Unión La Calera level. Unión La Calera then scored again and turned the match thanks to a goal from Lucas Passerini in the 25th minute to see out the first half 2-1. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-1 at full time.

Both coaches used all substitutions. Substitutions for Unión La Calera included Abel Moreno, Esteban Valencia and Damian Moreno for Henry Sanhueza, Nicolas Orellana and Thomas Rodriguez, respectively, Unión brought on Diego Acevedo, Gonzalo Espinoza and Vicente Conelli, to replace Luis Antonio Pavez, Sebastian Leyton and Benjamin Galdames.
