Lille 1-0 Angers: Djalo goal lift Lille past bottom side Angers

Lille beat Angers SCO with a 1-0 victory on Sunday at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. Lille arrived with the intention of improving their league position after a 1-1 draw against Rennes. Angers had lost their previous match against RC Lens. Lille are currently 7th with 26 points from 15 matches, while Angers sit in 20th, with 8 points from 15.

Lille started strongly in the first half, when Tiago Djalo gave them the lead in the 36th minute to see out the first half 1-0. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Lille included Carlos Baleba, Jonas Martin, Akim Zedadka and Mohamed Bayo for Angel Gomes, Adam Ounas, Remy Cabella and Jonathan David, respectively. Angers brought on Sada Thioub, Waniss Taibi and Antonin Bobichon, to replace Amine Salama, Nabil Bentaleb and Farid El Melali.

The referee booked five players. Angel Gomes, Jose Fonte and Jonas Martin from Lille, who saw yellow cards and Carlos Baleba, sent off with a red, as well as for Angers Pierrick Capelle received yellows.

Angers and Lille will next play away to AC Ajaccio and Clermont Foot respectively.
