Bristol City’s 2-1 win over Preston North End on Wednesday, was hard fought at the Ashton Gate. Bristol were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 3-0 to Birmingham City. Following a goalless first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Bristol who started the second half strongly, with a goal from Robert Atkinson, 54 minutes in. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Andrew Hughes producing an equaliser in the 82nd minute, bringing North End level. The Robins in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with a 2nd effort from Robert Atkinson, leaving the final score at 2-1.
