Atletico Madrid 0-0 Brugge: Los Colchoneros denied as visitors hold on

Atleti were helde ach other to a 0-0 draw by Brugge on Wednesday at Civitas Metropolitano. Atleti were looking forward to playing again, following defeat to Club Brugge. Brugge were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Atletico Madrid and Porto. Atleti and Brugge currently occupy 2nd and 1st spots in the league, with 4 points and 10 points respectively after 4 matches.

Substitutions for Atleti included Yannick Carrasco, Alvaro Morata, Rodrigo De Paul, Matheus Cunha and Axel Witsel for Angel Correa, Thomas Lemar, Koke, Saul Niguez and Antoine Griezmann, respectively. Brugge brought on Bjorn Meijer, Eder Balanta and Clinton Mata, to replace Andreas Olsen, Ferran Jutgla and Tajon Buchanan.

The referee booked Stefan Savic and Geoffrey Kondogbia from Atleti. Brugge had the worst of it though, with Tajon Buchanan, Kamal Sowah, Hans Vanaken and Simon Mignolet seeing yellow, and Kamal Sowah (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Brugge and Atleti will next play at home to Porto and Bayer Leverkusen respectively.
