Frosinone strolled past Ascoli with a 1-0 win on Friday at Stadio Cino e Lillo Del Duca. ASC arrived with the intention of improving their league position following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Brecia Calcio in their previous game whilst FRO were coming from consecutive wins against Perugia and Nuova Cosenza. ASC are now in 7th place, with 19 points from 13 matches, while FRO sit in 1st, with 30 points from 13.

After an uneventful first half, FRO continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Insigne gave them the lead on the 71 minute mark. They managed to close the match out with a clean sheet and a well-earned of 1-0 victory.

Substitutions for ASC included Lungoyi, Gondo, Adjapong and Ciciretti for Mendes, Dionisi, Falzerano and Quaranta, respectively. FRO brought on Milos Bocic, Gennaro Borrelli, Insigne, Lulić and Cotali, to replace Garritano, Moro, Rohden, Boloca and Frabotta.

The referee booked eight players. Simic and Falasco from ASC, who saw yellow cards and Collocolo, sent off with a red, as well as for FRO Moro, Boloca, Frabotta, Insigne and Mulattieri received yellows.

ASC will next travel to FC Südtirol, while FRO will face Cagliari at home.
