São Paulo 3 – Coritiba 1: Home fans rewarded with victory at Morumbí

São Paulo banked all three points against the Coritiba in a 3-1 victory on Friday, at Morumbí. São Paulo arrived with the intention of improving their league position following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Palmeiras in their previous game. Coritiba had lost their previous match against Athletico Paranaense. São Paulo are now in 12th place, with 41 points from 29 matches, while Coritiba sit in 15th, with 34 points from 29.

São Paulo started the match strongly, with an early goal from Jonathan Calleri in the 2nd minute. The first half ended 1-0.

São Paulo continued to pile on the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, when Jonathan Calleri found the net once more, 63 minutes in. The momentum was again with São Paulo, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Luciano, 72 minutes in to establish a 3-0 result. In the end though, Coritiba hit back though on the 84 minute mark, with a goal from Cadorini, seing the match finish 3-1.

Substitutions for São Paulo included Igor Gomes, Welington, Luan, Giuliano Galoppo and Andre Anderson for Joao Moreira, Reinaldo, Pablo Maia, Rodrigo Nestor and Patryck, respectively. Coritiba brought on Matheus Alexandre, Cadorini, Diego Porfirio da Silva, Regis and Bernardo Marcos Lemes, to replace Natanael, Fabricio Daniel, Rafael Santos, Gabriel Boschilia and Warley.

There were bookings for Luizao and Luciano from São Paulo, and Natanael, Jhon Chancellor, Diego Porfirio da Silva, Bruno Gomes and Adrian Martinez, for Coritiba.

São Paulo will next travel to Juventude, while Coritiba will face Internacional at home.
