São Paulo 4-0 Avai: Bad day for Avai as they are trounced at Morumbí

São Paulo eased past Avai in a 4-0 victory on Monday at Morumbí. Both teams arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. São Paulo were looking to pick up points after winning last match while Avai were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Atl. Mineiro in their last match. São Paulo are now in 13th place on the table and have 34 points while Avai sit in 17th with 28 points after 28 matches.
São Paulo started the match strongly, when Diego opened the rout in the 25th minute. São Paulo looked to have the match under control when they scored again to grab the advantage, thanks to a goal from Luciano, 45 minutes in to establish a 2-0. However they weren’t finished yet and Patrick made it 3-0 just before half-time, which saw the first half end 3-0.
São Paulo continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Eder just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 4-0.
