Santos 4-1 Juventude: Bad day for Juve at Urbano Caldeira

Juventude fell to an away defeat at the hands of Santos FC at Urbano Caldeira on Tuesday. Santos arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing their last match 2-1 to Atl. Mineiro whilst Juve had secured a point against Corinthians in their previous match. Santos and Juve currently occupy 11th and 20th spots in the league, with 40 points and 20 points respectively after 31 matches.

Santos didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Lucas Braga opened the rout, at 24 minutes. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Santos started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when Marcos Leonardo found the net, at 54 minutes. The momentum was again with Santos, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Madson on the 63 minute mark to establish a 3-0 result. In the end though, Juve then grabbed a goal from Bruno Nazario in the 78th minute. When the final whistle blew, the result was 4-1 to Santos.

Substitutions for Santos included Madson, Sandry, Ed Carlos de Arruda Amorim, Guilherme Camacho and Miguelito for Auro, Carlos Sanchez, Lucas Henrique Barbosa, Rodrigo Fernandez and Lucas Braga, respectively. Juve brought on Oscar Ruiz, Bruno Nazario, Yuri Lima, Felipe Pires and Jean Irmer, to replace Rafael Rech, Chico, Jadson, Capixaba and Elton.

The referee booked Lucas Henrique Barbosa and Rodrigo Fernandez for Santos.

Santos will next travel to Red Bull Bragantino, while Juve will face Atlético Goianense at home.
