Bragantino 1-1 Ceará: Points shared after late drama

On Monday, Bragantino and Ceará were held to a 1-1 draw at Stadium Nabi Abi Chedid (nabizao). Both Bragantino and Ceará came from defeats in their previous league games. Bragantino were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last match 3-0 to São Paulo. Ceará were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Fortaleza EC. As things stand, Bragantino are in 9th place, with 30 points from 23 matches, while Ceará sit in 15th, with 25 points from 23.

Following a goalless first half, Ceará fought back the second half, when Ze Roberto gave Ceará the lead, at 80 minutes. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Luan Candido equalised for Bragantino just before the final whistle and saw the match end 1-1.

Substitutions for Bragantino included Miguel, Gabriel Novaes, Ramires, Ramon and Praxedes for Natan, Carlos Eduardo, Lucas Evangelista, Helinho and Raul, repectively. Ceará brought on Erick, Ze Roberto, Richardson, Gabriel Lacerda and Geovane, to replace Stiven Mendoza, Matheus Peixoto, Guilherme Castilho, Jhon Vasquez and Erick.

There were bookings for Helinho, Luan Candido and Natan from Bragantino, and Luiz Otavio, Richardson, Michel and Messias, for Ceará.

Bragantino will play away against Corinthians, while Ceará will face Athletico Paranaense at home.
