Bragantino 4 – Paranaense 2: Home fans rewarded with victory at Stadium Nabi Abi Chedid (nabizao)

Athletico Paranaense fell to an away defeat at the hands of Red Bull Bragantino at Stadium Nabi Abi Chedid (nabizao) on Saturday. Bragantino were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 2-0 to Santos FC in their last match. Paranaense, meanwhile, were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Coritiba. Bragantino are now in 13th place, with 41 points from 33 matches, while Paranaense sit in 6th, with 51 points from 33.

Bragantino dominated the first half, with an early goal from Ramires in the 5th minute. Bragantino looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Werik Popo, at 38 minutes to establish a 2-0. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Luan Candido just before half-time, ending the first half 3-0.

Paranaense took the lead in the second half, when Vitor Bueno found the net in the 64th minute. The momentum was again with Paranaense, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Vitinho in the 67th minute to establish a 3-2 result. In the end though, Bragantino increased their advantage thanks to another Luan Candido goal just before the full time, leaving the final score at 4-2.

Substitutions for Bragantino included Carlos Eduardo, Gabriel Novaes, Hyoran, Ramon and Nathan Camargo dos Santos for Werik Popo, Ramires, Marcos Vinicios, Artur and Hyoran, respectively. Paranaense brought on Vitinho, Vitor Roque, Vitor Bueno, Hugo Moura and Romulo, to replace Agustin Canobbio, David Terans, Tomas Cuello, Erick and Abner.

The referee booked three players from Paranaense, Abner, Thiago Heleno and Pedro Henrique.

Bragantino will play their next fixture away against Botafogo, while Paranaense will face Palmeiras at home.
