Bragantino 1 – America 4: Stadium Nabi Abi Chedid (nabizao) stunned as visitors seal victory

Bragantino were defeated at home by America Mineiro at Stadium Nabi Abi Chedid (nabizao) on Sunday. Both teams arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Bragantino had been hopeful of continuing their good run, following a 2-1 victory against Avai. America, meanwhile, were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Internacional in their last match. Bragantino are now in 13th place, with 44 points from 36 matches, while America sit in 9th, with 49 points from 36.

America found the net first, when Juninho opened the rout early in the first half. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Luan Candido managing to equalize on the 18 minute mark 1-1. However, each side looked hungry to win and America then found the back of the net, at 25 minutes thanks to Henrique Almeida, taking the score to 2-1. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a penalty goal from Everaldo just before half-time and the first half ended 3-1.

America continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Juninho found the net once more just before the final whistle. The match ended 4-1 to America.

Substitutions for Bragantino included Alerrandro, Miguel, Carlos Eduardo, Welliton Silva de Azevedo Matheus and Jadsom for Werik Popo, Hyoran, Lucas Evangelista, Artur and Raul, respectively. America brought on Wellington Paulista, Aloisio, Matheusinho, Lucas Kal and Danilo Avelar for Henrique Almeida, Felipe Azevedo, Martin Benitez, Everaldo and Marlon Matheus.
