Palmeiras 2 – Juve 1: Visitors leave Allianz Parque empty handed

Palmeiras defeated Juventude 2-1 on Sunday at Allianz Parque. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Palmeiras were aiming to improve their league standing following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Red Bull Bragantino in their previous game. Juve had secured a point against Avai in their previous match. Palmeiras and Juve currently occupy 1st and 20th spots in the table, with 54 points and 18 points respectively after 26 matches.

Palmeiras started the first half well, when Rony found the net just before half-time

Juve took the lead in the second half, when Guilherme Parede found the net, 63 minutes in. In the end though, Palmeiras took the victory following a Ze Rafael goal, at 67 minutes. The match ended with a 2-1 home victory.

Substitutions for Palmeiras included Breno, Mayke, Rafael Navarro, Eduard Atuesta and Gabriel Menino for Bruno Tabata, Marcos Rocha, Rony, Gustavo Scarpa and Dudu, respectively. Juve brought on Rafael Rech, Guilherme Parede, Moraes, Ruan Pereira Duarte and Vitor Gabriel, to replace Chico, Oscar Ruiz, Capixaba, Renato Chaves and Isidro Pitta.

The referee booked Jadson, Moraes and Vitor Gabriel for Juve.

Palmeiras next face Santos FC while Juve are at home to Fortaleza EC.
