Palmeiras 3-0: Road struggles continue for Goiás in heavy loss at Allianz Parque

Palmeiras eased past Goiás EC in a 3-0 victory on Sunday at Allianz Parque. Both Palmeiras and Goiás arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Palmeiras were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches in the league. The most recent was against the Ceará away (2-1), the other to Internacional at home (2-1) while Goiás had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Coritiba. As the table looks today, Palmeiras are currently 1st with 45 points from 21 matches, while Goiás sit in 13th, with 25 points from 21.

Palmeiras scored first, when Mayke opened the rout at the 19 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Raphael Veiga made it 2-0 just before halftime, concluding the first half 2-0.

Palmeiras continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Eduard Atuesta, 83 minutes in. They managed to see the match out with a clean sheet and a final score of 3-0.

Substitutions for Palmeiras included Danilo, Rony, Gustavo Scarpa, Jose Manuel Lopez and Eduard Atuesta for Ze Rafael, Dudu, Raphael Veiga, Rafael Navarro and Gabriel Menino, repectively. Goiás brought on Renato Junior, Fellipe Ramos Ignez Bastos, Nicolas, Pedro Junqueira de Oliveira and Hugo, to replace Matheus Sales, Luan Dias da Silva, Danilo Barcelos, Dada Belmonte and Caetano.

There were bookings for Ze Rafael and Gustavo Gomez from Palmeiras. For Goiás, Dada Belmonte, Danilo Barcelos and Fellipe Ramos Ignez Bastos saw yellow.

Palmeiras will next play Corinthians away, with Goiás facing Avai at home.
