Juve 1 – São Paulo 2: Visitors at Alfredo Jaconi secure victory

Juve were defeated at home by São Paulo at Alfredo Jaconi on Sunday. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Juve arrived with the intention of improving their league position after a 1-1 draw against Atlético Goianense. São Paulo had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with Palmeiras. Juve and São Paulo currently occupy 20th and 8th spots in the table, with 21 points and 47 points respectively after 33 matches.

São Paulo started strong and were rewarded, when Reinaldo found the net, 36 minutes in. However, their lead was short-lived, as Capixaba equalised for Juve in the 39th minute, concluding the first half 1-1.

São Paulo started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when Reinaldo found the net once more, 55 minutes in. When the final whistle blew, the result was 2-1 to São Paulo.

Substitutions for Juve included Oscar Ruiz, Bruno Nazario, Ruan Pereira Duarte, Gabriel Tota and Jean Irmer for Rafael Rech, Elton, Capixaba, Jadson and Chico, respectively. São Paulo brought on Giuliano Galoppo, Eder, Marcos Guilherme, Welington and Igor Gomes, to replace Joao Moreira, Nahuel Bustos, Patryck, Reinaldo and Rodrigo Nestor.

There were bookings for Rodrigo and Vitor Mendes from Juve. For São Paulo, Joao Moreira and Pablo Maia saw yellow.

Juve will next travel to Atl. Mineiro, while São Paulo will face Atlético Goianense at home.
