Internacional 4-2 Goiás: Inter romp to win in high-scoring affair

Goiás EC on away loss to Internacional at Estadio Beira-Rio on Sunday. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Internacional arrived with the intention of improving their league position following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Flamengo in their previous game while Goiás had secured a point against Ceará in their previous match. Internacional are currently 2nd with 57 points from 31 matches, while Goiás sit in 13th, with 38 points from 31.

The first half of the match started well for Internacional, when Mauricio found the net, 13 minutes in. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Pedro Raul in the 33rd minute, brought Goiás level. However, each side looked hungry to win and Internacional then found the back of the net, 42 minutes in thanks to Alan Patrick, taking the score to 2-1. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Pedro Raul equalised for Goiás just before half-time, ending the first half 2-2.

Internacional once more applied the pressure in the second half, when Alan Patrick found the net once more, 57 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Carlos De Pena made it 4-2 just before the final whistle to give a final score of 4-2.

Substitutions for Internacional included Liziero, Edenilson, Wanderson and Taison for Mauricio, Pedro Henrique, Johnny and Alan Patrick, respectively. Goiás brought on Marquinhos Gabriel, Pedrinho, Nicolas, Danilo Barcelos and Fellipe Ramos Ignez Bastos for Vinicius, Luan Dias da Silva, Diego, Hugo and Auremir.

There were bookings for Pedro Henrique from Internacional. For Goiás, Diego, Dada Belmonte, Luan Dias da Silva, Hugo, Danilo Barcelos, Lucas Halter and Maguinho saw yellow.
