Internacional beat Fluminense with a thumping 3-0 victory on Monday at Estadio Beira-Rio. Internacional arrived at the match looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Fortaleza EC. Fluminense, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Cuiaba. As it stands, Internacional and Fluminense sit 6th and 4th places with 36 points and 38 points respectively.

Internacional didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Fabricio Bustos opened the rout at the 36 minute mark to see out the first half 1-0.

Internacional continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Alemao in the 71st minute. Internacional then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Carlos De Pena just before the final whistle with a final score of 3-0.

Substitutions for Internacional included Pedro Henrique, Braian Romero, Liziero and Alan Patrick for Mauricio, Alemao, Johnny and Wanderson, repectively. Fluminense brought on Felipe Melo, Nathan, John Kennedy, Willian and Marrony, to replace Manoel, Jhon Arias, German Cano, Ganso and Matheus Martins.

There were bookings for Daniel from Internacional. For Fluminense, Marrony saw yellow.

Internacional will next travel to Avai, while Fluminense will face Coritiba at home.
