Internacional 3-0 Mineiro: Powerful starts eases Internacional to three points

Internacional on a 3-0 win against Atl. Mineiro on Sunday at Estadio Beira-Rio. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Internacional were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Palmeiras. Mineiro, on the other hand, lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Corinthians. As the table looks today, Internacional and Mineiro currently occupy 6th and 7th spots in the table, with 33 points and 32 points respectively after 20 matches.

Internacional started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Mauricio opened the rout after only 7 minutes. The momentum was now with Internacional, who then scored again through a goal from Wanderson, 24 minutes in to establish a 2-0. Internacional then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a 2nd effort from Mauricio, 30 minutes in, which saw the first half end 3-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 3-0.

Substitutions for Internacional included Pedro Henrique, Johnny, Braian Romero, Kaique Rocha and Estevao for Wanderson, Mauricio, Alemao, Gabriel Mercado and Edenilson, repectively. Mineiro brought on Eduardo Vargas, Pedrinho, Eduardo Sasha, Rubens and Dodo for Ignacio Fernandez, Ademir, Keno, Jair and Guilherme Arana.

There were bookings for Gabriel Mercado from Internacional, and Ademir, for Mineiro.

Internacional will next play Fortaleza EC away, with Mineiro facing Athletico Paranaense at home.
