Flamengo 2-0 Cuiaba: Visitors get no change out of Flamenga at the Maracana

Flamengo defeated Cuiaba 2-0 on Thursday at Maracana. Flamengo were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Internacional while Cuiaba are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As it stands, Flamengo are in 9th place, with 15 points from 12 matches, while Cuiaba sit in 18th, with 12 points from 12.

Flamengo scored first, when Ayrton Lucas found the net after only 6 minutes, saw out the first half 1-0.

Flamengo continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Gabriel Barbosa at the 79 minute mark, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Flamengo included Leo Pereira, Vitinho, Diego, Pedro and Willian Arao for David Luiz, Bruno Henrique, Everton Ribeiro, Gabriel Barbosa and Giorgian De Arrascaeta, repectively. Cuiaba brought on Jonathan Cafu, Valdivia, Jenison, Kelvin Osorio and Marcao Silva, to replace Andre, Pepe, Andre Luis, Rafael Gava and Felipe Marques.

There were bookings for Vitinho from Flamengo. For Cuiaba, Andre and Camilo saw yellow.

Flamengo will play their next fixture away against Atl. Mineiro, while Cuiaba will face Ceará at home.
