Cuiaba 1-1 São Paulo: Hosts claim as São Paulo reduced to 10 men

Cuiaba were helde ach other to a 1-1 draw by São Paulo on Monday at Arena Pantanal. Cuiaba arrived with the intention of improving their league position after a scoreless draw against Santos FC in their previous match. São Paulo lost 1-0 in their against Fortaleza EC. Cuiaba and São Paulo sit 17th, (25 points) and 14th, (29 points), spots respectively, after 25 matches.

Cuiaba dominated the first half, when Deyverson gave them the lead early in the first half, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

São Paulo took the lead in the second half, when Luizao found the net, at 80 minutes, seing the match finish 1-1.

Substitutions for Cuiaba included Joao Carlos, Alesson, Kelvin Osorio, Felipe Marques and Rodriguinho for Walter, Deyverson, Sidcley, Valdivia and Andre Luis, respectively. São Paulo brought on Igor Vinicius, Juan Santos, Lucas Beraldo, Talles Costa and Igor Gomes, to replace Marcos Guilherme, Nahuel Ferraresi, Patrick, Nahuel Bustos and Giuliano Galoppo.

The referee booked Valdivia, Deyverson and Alan Empereur from Cuiaba. São Paulo had the worst of it though, with Nahuel Ferraresi and Welington seeing yellow, and Welington (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Cuiaba will next travel to Internacional, while São Paulo will face Corinthians at home.
