Coritiba 2-2 Juventude: Juve denied a win as Coritiba fightback to draw

Coritiba were held to 2-2 draw by Juve down on Sunday at Estadio Couto Pereira. Coritiba were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Juve had lost their previous match against Atl. Mineiro. As the table looks today, Coritiba and Juve are 12th, (19 points) and 19th, (12 points), spots respectively, after 16 matches.

Juve started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early goal from Paulo Henrique in the 5th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Ricardo Bueno made it 2-0, 34 minutes in, which saw the first half end 2-0.

Coritiba started the second half with an intensified spirit, when Leo Gamalho found the net, 53 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Adrian Martinez made it 2-2, 78 minutes in with a final score of 2-2.

Substitutions for Coritiba included Natanael, Egidio, Adrian Martinez, Jose Hugo Sousa dos Santos and Regis for Matheus Alexandre, Guilherme Biro, Fabricio Daniel, Alef Manga and Matias Galarza, repectively. Juve brought on Chico, Capixaba, Guilherme Parede, Darlan Mendes and Vitor Gabriel, to replace Oscar Ruiz, Edinho, Paulo Henrique, Jadson and Ricardo Bueno.

There were bookings for Henrique from Coritiba, and Moraes and Thalisson Da Silva, for Juve.

Coritiba will play away against Flamengo, while Juve will face Goiás EC at home.
