Coritiba 1-0 Ceará: Visitors leave Estadio Couto Pereira empty handed

Coritiba banked all three points against the Ceará in a 1-0 victory on Thursday, at Estadio Couto Pereira. Both Coritiba and Ceará came from defeats in their previous league games. Coritiba were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 2-0 to Botafogo in their previous fixture, while Ceará were beaten 2-0 in their previous match against São Paulo. Coritiba and Ceará currently occupy 16th and 15th spots in the league, with 28 points and 31 points respectively after 28 matches.

Coritiba dominated the first half, with a goal from Fabricio Daniel, at 30 minutes, and they saw out the first half 1-0. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-0 at full time.

Substitutions for Coritiba included Gabriel Boschilia, Jose Hugo Sousa dos Santos, Bernardo Marcos Lemes and Leo Gamalho for Robinho, Warley, Fabricio Daniel and Alef Manga, respectively. Ceará replaced Marcos Victor Ferreira da Silva, Iury Lirio, Erick, Jhon Vasquez and Guilherme Castilho with Messias, Stiven Mendoza, Vinicius Lima, Jo and Richardson.

There were bookings for Fabricio Daniel and Luciano Castan from Coritiba, and Vinicius Goes, Richardson, Victor Luis and Marcos Victor Ferreira da Silva, for Ceará.

Coritiba will next play São Paulo away, with Ceará facing America Mineiro at home.
