Ceará 1 – Goianense 1: Points shared at Estadio Castelao after draw

On Monday, Ceará and Goianense were held to a 1-1 draw at Estadio Castelao. Ceará wanted to continue adding points after a scoreless draw against Cuiaba in their previous match. Goianense were coming off the back of a 3-1 win against Juventude. At the moment, both teams are on 17 points and occupy 15th and 13th places respectively after 14 matches.

Goianense scored first, thanks to a goal from Jorginho, 26 minutes in to take them into the break 1-0 up.

Ceará started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early calamitous own goal from Hayner in the 48th minute, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Ceará included Ze Roberto, Erick and Cleber Bomfim for Matheus Peixoto, Fernando Sobral and Vinicius Goes, repectively. Goianense brought on Wellington Rato, Leo Pereira, Lucas Eduardo Lima da Silva, Shaylon and Rickson for Airton, Luiz Fernando, Edson, Jorginho and Diego Churín.

There were bookings for Messias and Vinicius Goes from Ceará. For Goianense, Ramon and Airton saw yellow.

Ceará next face Internacional and Goianense are at home to São Paulo.
