Botafogo 0-1 Internacional: Visitors pass a stern test ot land road win

Internacional beat Botafogo with a 1-0 victory on Monday at Nilton Santos. Both Botafogo and Internacional arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Botafogo were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against São Paulo away and Avai away, by 1-0 and 2-1 respectively. Internacional were looking to extend their winning run after a 4-2 victory against Goiás EC. Botafogo are 10th with 43 points from 32 matches, while Internacional sit in 2nd, with 60 points from 32.

Following a goalless first half, Internacional continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Braian Romero gave them the lead in the 68th minute, seing the match finish 1-0.

Substitutions for Botafogo included Jefferson Ruan Pereira dos Santos, Matheus Nascimento, Luis Henrique and Gustavo Sauer for Joao Victor, Danilo, Junior Santos and Adryelson, respectively. Internacional brought on Taison, Braian Romero, Liziero, David and Lucas Ramos, to replace Wanderson, Alemao, Johnny, Alan Patrick and Edenilson.

There were bookings for Tche Tche and Daniel Borges from Botafogo. For Internacional, Rodrigo Moledo, Johnny, Taison and Liziero saw yellow.

Internacional and Botafogo will next play away to Coritiba and Fluminense respectively.
