Goianense 1-1 Cuiaba: Atletico GO denied a precious three home points

On Monday, Goianense and Cuiaba were held to a 1-1 draw at Estadio Antonio Accioly. Goianense were looking for a victory following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Botafogo in their previous game. Cuiaba were coming off the back of a 1-0 win against Juventude. After today’s result, Goianense and Cuiaba currently occupy 19th and 16th spots in the league, with 21 points and 23 points respectively after 23 matches.

Goianense started the match well, with a goal from Diego Churín at the 34 minute mark. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Cuiaba took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Rodriguinho at the 81 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Goianense included Wanderson, Leo Pereira, Gabriel Baralha, Rhaldney Norberto Simiao Gomes and Peglow for Wellington Rato, Luiz Fernando, Marlon Freitas, Airton and Diego Churín, repectively. Cuiaba brought on Andre Luis, Daniel Guedes, Sidcley, Alesson and Rodriguinho, to replace Gabriel Cordeiro Pirani, Joao Lucas, Kelvin Osorio, Valdivia and Camilo.

The referee booked four players. Diego Churín from Goianense, who saw yellow cards and Lucas Gazal, sent off with a red, as well as for Cuiaba Valdivia and Daniel Guedes also seeing yellows.

Goianense will next travel to Goiás EC, while Cuiaba will face Santos FC at home.
