Goianense 0-2 Mineiro: Rooster ease to home success

Goianense were defeated at home by Atl. Mineiro at Estadio Antonio Accioly on Monday. Goianense arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing their last match 2-1 to Goiás EC. Mineiro, meanwhile, had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with America Mineiro. Goianense and Mineiro currently occupy 19th and 7th spots in the league, with 22 points and 36 points respectively after 25 matches.

The first half of the match started well for Mineiro, when Keno gave them the lead just before half-time to see out the first half 1-0.

Mineiro continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Hulk in the 58th minute, seing the match finish 2-0.

Substitutions for Goianense included Arthur Henry, Leo Pereira, Jorginho, Wellington Rato and Airton for Jefferson, Luiz Fernando, Dudu, Shaylon and Marlon Freitas, respectively. Mineiro brought on Ademir, Rubens, Ignacio Fernandez, Calebe and Eduardo Vargas, to replace Keno, Matias Zaracho, Hulk, Jemerson and Eduardo Sasha.

There were bookings for Luiz Fernando from Goianense, and Nathan and Matias Zaracho, for Mineiro.

Goianense will next play Coritiba away, with Mineiro facing Red Bull Bragantino at home.
