Goianense 1-1 Paranaense: No winning feeling for Paranaense in tense draw

On Thursday, Goianense and Paranaense played out a 1-1 draw at Estadio Antonio Accioly. Goianense arrived with the intention of improving their league position after a 1-1 draw against Fortaleza EC while Paranaense had lost their previous match against Internacional. Goianense and Paranaense currently occupy 17th and 6th spots in the league, with 35 points and 55 points respectively after 37 matches.

Following a goalless first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Goianense who started the second half strongly, when Shaylon found the net, 51 minutes in. In the end though, their lead was short-lived, as David Terans equalised for Paranaense on the 61 minute mark. The final result, Goianense 1, Paranaense 1.

Substitutions for Goianense included Marlon Freitas, Klaus, Edson, Jorginho and Kelvin Giacobe Alves dos Santos for Willian Maranhao, Wanderson, Dudu, Jefferson and Airton, respectively. Paranaense brought on Vitor Roque, Romulo, Vitor Bueno, Alex Santana and Nicolas Hernandez, to replace Pablo Felipe, Vitinho, Tomas Cuello, Erick and Pedro Henrique.

The referee booked Gabriel Baralha for Goianense.

Goianense will play their next fixture away against America Mineiro, while Paranaense will face Botafogo at home.
