Mineiro 1-0 Juventude: Early goal from Dodo lifts hosts to victory

Atl. Mineiro strolled past Juventude with a 1-0 win on Friday at Governador Magalhaes Pinto. Mineiro were on the hunt for more points after a scoreless draw against Fortaleza EC in their previous match. Juve were beaten 2-1 in their previous match against São Paulo. Mineiro and Juve currently occupy 7th and 20th spots in the league, with 51 points and 21 points respectively after 34 matches.

Mineiro started the first half well, thanks to a goal from Dodo, 12 minutes in, concluding the first half 1-0. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Mineiro included Alan Kardec, Matias Zaracho, Eduardo Vargas, Otavio and Calebe for Eduardo Sasha, Keno, Cristian Pavon, Jair and Ignacio Fernandez, respectively. Juve brought on Ruan Pereira Duarte, Bruno Nazario, Rafael Rech, Jean Irmer and Oscar Ruiz, to replace Yuri Lima, Chico, Capixaba, Elton and Isidro Pitta.

There were bookings for Ignacio Fernandez and Junior Alonso from Mineiro, and Jean Irmer, for Juve.

Mineiro will next play São Paulo away, with Juve facing Coritiba at home.
