Paranaense 1-0 Coritiba: Santana nets a late winner for hosts

On Monday, Coritiba suffered an away defeat to Athletico Paranaense at Arena da Baixada. Paranaense were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 2-1 to Corinthians. Coritiba had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Red Bull Bragantino. Paranaense are currently 6th with 48 points from 32 matches, while Coritiba sit in 15th, with 34 points from 32.

After a goalless first half, Paranaense applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Alex Santana gave them the lead just before the final whistle. When the final whistle blew, the result was 1-0 to Paranaense.

Substitutions for Paranaense included Alex Santana, Agustin Canobbio, Vitor Roque, Pedrinho and Romulo for David Terans, Vitinho, Pablo Felipe, Abner and Tomas Cuello, respectively. Coritiba brought on Adrian Martinez, Thonny Anderson, Leo Gamalho, Matheus Alexandre and Jose Hugo Sousa dos Santos, to replace Gabriel Boschilia, Fabricio Daniel, Alef Manga, Natanael and Bernardo Marcos Lemes.

There were bookings for Pedrinho, Alex Santana and Fernandinho from Paranaense. For Coritiba, Alef Manga and Jesus Trindade saw yellow.

Paranaense will next play Red Bull Bragantino away, with Coritiba facing Internacional at home.
