Paranaense 1-1 Corinthians: Victory eludes visitors as Paranaense find late equaliser

Paranaense were held to 1-1 draw by Corinthians down on Thursday at Arena da Baixada. Paranaense wanted to continue adding points after a scoreless draw against Fortaleza EC in their previous match. Corinthians, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-0 win against Juventude in their last match. As the table looks today, Paranaense and Corinthians are 4th, (18 points) and 2nd, (22 points), spots respectively, after 12 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Corinthians, with an early goal from Roger Guedes in the 5th minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

Paranaense took the initiative in the second half, when David Terans found the net, at 82 minutes. The match ended wih a 1-1 draw.

Substitutions for Paranaense included Leo Cittadini, Vitinho, Vitor Ferreira, Matheus Babi and Erick for Matheus Fernandes, Tomas Cuello, Pablo Felipe, Marcelo Cirino and David Terans, repectively. Corinthians brought on Rafael Ramos, Roni, Renato Augusto, Fabio Santos and Wesley Gassova Ribeiro Teixeira, to replace Adson, Victor Cantillo, Giuliano, Willian and Roger Guedes.

The referee booked from Paranaense David Terans and Abner and from Corinthians Rafael Ramos and Roger Guedes. Both teams also had a sending off, with Hugo Moura for Paranaense and Roni for Corinthians.

Paranaense will next travel to Coritiba, while Corinthians will face Goiás EC at home.
