Paranaense 1-1 America: Almeida pegs back hosts to earn visitors at draw

On Monday, Paranaense and America were held to a 1-1 draw at Arena da Baixada. Paranaense were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Flamengo while America were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Santos FC and Juventude. As the table looks today, Paranaense are in 5th place in the table and have 38 points while America sit in 8th with 31 points after 23 matches.

Paranaense started strongly in the first half, when Pablo Felipe gave Paranaense the lead at the 24 minute mark. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

America took the initiative in the second half, when Henrique Almeida found the net, 64 minutes in, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Paranaense included Vitinho, Leo Cittadini, Vitor Roque, Erick and Romulo for David Terans, Tomas Cuello, Pablo Felipe, Alex Santana and Agustin Canobbio, repectively. America brought on Leandro Martinez, Pedrinho, Everaldo, Wellington Paulista and Ricardo Silva, to replace Alexandre Egea, Matheusinho, Henrique Almeida, Felipe Azevedo and Lucas Kal.

Paranaense will play away against Ceará, while America will face Atl. Mineiro at home.
