America were held to 1-1 draw by Mineiro down on Sunday at Independencia. America arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 1-1 draw against Athletico Paranaense. Mineiro, on the other hand, lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Goiás EC. As the table looks today, America and Mineiro currently occupy 9th and 7th spots in the league, with 32 points and 36 points respectively after 24 matches.

Mineiro started the first half well, with a goal from Hulk at the 10 minute mark. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Henrique Almeida equalised for America at the 19 minute mark. The score at half time was 1-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-1.

Substitutions for America included Matheusinho, Pedrinho, Wellington Paulista, Aloisio and Patric for Leandro Martinez, Felipe Azevedo, Henrique Almeida, Everaldo and Raul Caceres, repectively. Mineiro brought on Keno, Nathan, Pedrinho, Ignacio Fernandez and Rubens, to replace Cristian Pavon, Junior Alonso, Ademir, Matias Zaracho and Pedrinho.

There were bookings for Eder Ferreira, Henrique Almeida, Juninho and Pedrinho from America. For Mineiro, Allan, Junior Alonso, Hulk and Keno saw yellow.
