Sampdoria suffer a first loss against Atalanta in their first match of the new Serie A campaign. Today’s result, Sampdoria are in 20th place, with 0 points from 1 match, while Atalanta sit in 1st, with 3 points from 1.

Atalanta started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Rafael Toloi gave The Goddess the lead, 26 minutes in to see out the first half 1-0.

Atalanta continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Ademola Lookman found the net just before the final whistle, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

Substitutions for Sampdoria included Manuel De Luca, Valerio Verre, Fabio Depaoli, Fabio Quagliarella and Jeison Murillo for Francesco Caputo, Filip Djuricic, Bartosz Bereszynski, Mehdi Leris and Alex Ferrari, repectively.
