Juve 2-2 Lazio: The Old Lady secure a top four finish after home draw

Juve were held to 2-2 draw by Lazio down on Monday at the Allianz Stadium. Juve were hoping to get something from this game after losing 2-1 to Genoa in their last match while Lazio were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Sampdoria and Spezia Calcio. As it stands, Juve and Lazio currently occupy 4th and 5th spots in the table, with 70 points and 63 points respectively after 37 matches.

Juve started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to a goal from Dusan Vlahovic, 10 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Alvaro Morata, 36 minutes in. The score at half time was 2-0.

Lazio started the second half with renewed vigour, with Alex Sandro finding the net in the 51st minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic made it 2-2 just before the final whistle to make it 2-2.

For Juve, Matthijs De Ligt, Marley Ake, Moise Kean, Luca Pellegrini and Martin Palumbo, came on for Giorgio Chiellini, Manuel Locatelli, Dusan Vlahovic, Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala. Lazio replaced Pedro, Toma Basic, Lucas Leiva and Stefan Radu with Jovane Cabral, Luis Alberto, Danilo Cataldi and Manuel Lazzari.

There were bookings for Federico Bernardeschi, Juan Cuadrado and Marley Ake from Juve, and Francesco Acerbi, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Patric, for Lazio.

Juve will next travel to Fiorentina, while Lazio will face Hellas Verona at home.
