Fiorentina 3-2 Cremonese: The Viola edge 5-goal thriller at Stadio Artemio Franchi

Fiorentina made a fine start in the new Serie A campaign with victory against Cremonese. Today’s result, Fiorentina are currently 3rd with 3 points from 1 match, while USC sit in 15th, with 0 points from 1.

The Purple One started the first half well, when Giacomo Bonaventura found the net, 16 minutes in. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, David Okereke managed to equalize and take the sides off at the 19 minute mark at 1-1. However, Fiorentina, 34 minutes in reestablished their lead following a Luka Jovic goal, finishing the first half 2-1.

USC took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Cristian Buonaiuto in the 68th minute. Fiorentina in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Rolando Mandragora and saw the match end 3-2.

Substitutions for Fiorentina included Dodo, Szymon Zurkowski, Riccardo Saponara, Rolando Mandragora and Nicolas Gonzalez for Marco Benassi, Youssef Maleh, Christian Kouame, Sofyan Amrabat and Riccardo Sottil, repectively. USC replaced Santiago Ascacibar, Giacomo Quagliata, Cristian Buonaiuto, Emanuel Aiwu and Samuel Di Carmine with Vlad Chiriches, Leonardo Sernicola, Charles Pickel, Paolo Ghiglione and David Okereke.

In the second round of action in the Serie A, both USC and Fiorentina will play away against Roma and Empoli respectively.
