Atalanta 1-0 Fiorentina: The Goddess see off visitors at the Gewiss Stadium

Atalanta beated Fiorentina 1-0 on Sunday at the Gewiss Stadium. Both Atalanta and Fiorentina arrived fresh from some positive results. Atalanta were looking to pick up points, following a 1-0 victory against Roma. Fiorentina, meanwhile, were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-0 win against Hellas Verona in their last match. Atalanta are now in 2nd place on the table and have 20 points while Fiorentina sit in 11th with 9 points after 8 matches.

After a goalless first half, Atalanta piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Ademola Lookman gave them the lead in the 59th minute, seing the match finish 1-0.

Substitutions for Atalanta included Mario Pasalic, Joakim Maehle, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Rasmus Hojlund and Merih Demiral for Ederson, Brandon Soppy, Ademola Lookman, Luis Muriel and Rafael Toloi, respectively. Fiorentina brought on Aleksa Terzic, Sofyan Amrabat, Luka Jovic, Alfred Duncan and Arthur Cabral, to replace Lorenzo Venuti, Giacomo Bonaventura, Antonin Barak, Lucas Martinez and Riccardo Saponara.

There were bookings for Giorgio Scalvini and Hans Hateboer from Atalanta. For Fiorentina, Giacomo Bonaventura and Sofyan Amrabat saw yellow.

Atalanta will next travel to Udinese, while Fiorentina will face Lazio at home.
