Norwich 0 – The Hammers 4: Home side left shocked by plundering visitors

West Ham United beat Norwich City with a thumping 4-0 victory on Sunday at Carrow Road. Both teams came from defeats in their previous league games. Norwich were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Aston Villa. The Hammers were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against Arsenal. As things stand, Norwich are currently 20th with 21 points from 36 matches, while The Hammers sit in 7th, with 55 points from 36.

The Hammers started the first half well, with Said Benrahma opening the rout in the 12th minute. The momentum was now with The Irons, who then scored again through a goal from Michail Antonio, 30 minutes in to establish a 2-0. The Hammers then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Said Benrahma just before half-time, finalising the first half 0-3.

The Hammers continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Manuel Lanzini finding the net at the 65 minute mark. The game ended 4-0 to The Hammers.

As for substitutions, for Norwich, Lukas Rupp, Tony Springett and Przemyslaw Placheta, came on for Pierre Lees-Melou, Milot Rashica and Kieran Dowell, The Hammers brought on Andriy Yarmolenko, Mark Noble and Nikola Vlasic to replace Michail Antonio, Craig Dawson and Said Benrahma.

There were bookings for Brandon Williams from Norwich. For The Hammers, Jarrod Bowen saw yellow.

Norwich will next play Wolverhampton Wanderers away, with The Hammers facing Manchester City at home.
