Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal: The Gunners make a big statement with in at The Bridge

Arsenal eased past Chelsea in a 1-0 victory on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing 4-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion in their previous fixture. Arsenal were coming off the back of a 5-0 win against Nottingham Forest. Chelsea are now in 7th place, with 21 points from 15 matches, while Arsenal sit in 1st, with 34 points from 15.

After a goalless first half, Arsenal continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Gabriel Magalhaes, 63 minutes in. When the final whistle blew, the result was 1-0 to Arsenal.

Substitutions for Chelsea included Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher, Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kai Havertz, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount, respectively. Arsenal replaced Kieran Tierney, Mohamed Elneny and Rob Holding with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli.

There were bookings for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Cesar Azpilicueta, Trevoh Chalobah, Conor Gallagher and Raheem Sterling from Chelsea. For Arsenal, Bukayo Saka and Ben White saw yellow.

Arsenal and Chelsea will next play away to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United respectively.
