Phili 1 – Columbus 2: The Crew secure 3 points at BMO Field

Columbus Crew strolled past Toronto FC with a 2-1 win on Thursday at BMO Field. Phili were looking to pick up points, following a 2-1 victory against Atlanta United. Columbus secured a point against Charlotte FC in their previous match. As it stands, Phili are in 12th place, with 18 points from 23 matches, while Columbus sit in 8th, with 21 points from 23.

The Crew started strongly in the first half, when Zawadzki gave Columbus the lead in the 18th minute. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Nagbe, at 30 minutes and saw the first half out 2-0.

Phili fought back, when Jesús Jiménez found the net, at 54 minutes, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Substitutions for Phili included Osorio, Kerr, Marshall-Ruty and Shaffelburg for Priso-Mbongue, Akinola, Petrasso and Thompson, repectively. Columbus brought on Etienne, Sands, Miguel Berry, Igbekeme and Díaz for Zelarayán, Pedro Santos, Russell, Zawadzki and Nagbe.

There were bookings for Thompson and Osorio from Phili. For Columbus, Russell and Igbekeme saw yellow.
