Kansas 0-2 Austin: Los Verdes ease to victory over the Wizards

Austin eased past Sporting Kansas City in a 2-0 victory on Sunday at Children’s Mercy Park. As it stands, Kansas are in 14th place in the table and have 20 points while Austin sit in 2nd with 44 points after 32 matches.

Los Verdes started the first half well, when Ring found the net just before halftime. The first half ended 1-0.

Austin continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Driussi found the net just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Kansas included Salloi, Thommy, Zusi, Espinoza and Rosell for Russell, Tzionis, Pierre, Hernandez and Agada, repectively. Austin replaced Felipe Martins, Romaña, Wolff, Redes and Hoesen with Pereira, Cascante, Ring, Finlay and Maxi Urruti.

The referee booked Duke and Sweat from Kansas and Duke (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Austin’s Cascante, Pereira and Maxi Urruti also received a yellow.
