Red Bulls 0-1 New York City: NYC claim win thanks to Castellanos strike at the Red Bull Arena

New York defeated Red Bulls 1-0 on Monday at Red Bull Arena. As it stands, Red Bulls and NYC currently occupy 3rd and 2nd spots in the league, with 33 points and 38 points respectively after 29 matches.

After a goalless first half, The Pigeons continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Castellanos found the net, 69 minutes in, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Red Bulls included Barlow, Harper, Ngoma, Klimala and Daniel Edelman for Fernandez, John Tolkin, Morgan, Luquinhas and Edwards, repectively. NYC brought on Andrade, Haak, Heber and Chanot, to replace Acevedo, Talles Magno, Castellanos and Rodríguez.

There were bookings for Cásseres, Amaya and Dylan Nealis from Red Bulls, and Morales, Acevedo and Castellanos, for NYC.
