Red Bulls 2-1 Atlanta: Late flurry of goals sees home side take the points at Red Bull Arena

Red Bulls beat Atlanta United with a thumping 2-1 victory on Friday at Red Bull Arena. After today’s result, Red Bulls are in 2nd place in the table and have 29 points while Atlanta sit in 11th with 19 points after 24 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Atlanta took the initiative in the second half, when Josef Martinez gave Atlanta the lead, 75 minutes in. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Morgan in the 82nd minute, brought Metro level. However they weren’t finished yet and Ngoma made it 2-1 just before the final whistle with a final score of 2-1.

Substitutions for Red Bulls included Barlow, Luquinhas, Ngoma and Sserwadda for Klimala, Harper, Fernandez and Edwards, repectively. Atlanta brought on Josef Martinez, Hyndman and Moreno, to replace Cisneros, Amar Sejdic and Franco Ibarra.

There were bookings for Cásseres, Long and Edwards from Red Bulls, and Amar Sejdic, Franco Ibarra and Ríos, for Atlanta.

Next up, Red Bulls are away to Sporting Kansas City, whilst Atlanta will travel to face New York.
