Portland 1-1 Vancouver Whitecaps: The Timbers frustrated in home draw with the Caps

Portland were held to 1-1 draw by Caps down on Monday at Providence Park. Following today’s result, Portland are in 7th place in the table and have 27 points while Caps sit in 10th with 26 points after 29 matches.

It was an impressive opening from The Village, when White gave Caps the lead, 33 minutes in to see out the first half 1-0.

The Timbers took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Mora in the 81st minute, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Portland included Loria, Tuiloma, Mora, Mcgraw and David Ayala for Moreno, Van Rankin, Paredes, Mabiala and Chará, repectively. Caps brought on Baldisimo, Godinho, Ricketts and Brown, to replace Teibert, Cavallini, Dájome and Raposo.

There were bookings for Van Rankin, Župarić and Blanco from Portland, and Cavallini and Raposo, for Caps.
