Portland 1-2 Los Angeles: The Black and Gold secure points at Providence Park

Portland on home loss to Los Angeles FC at Providence Park on Sunday. Portland and Los Angeles currently occupy 6th and 1st spots in the league, with 46 points and 67 points respectively after 46 matches.

After a goalless first half, The Black and Gold certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, with an early goal from Vela in the 49th minute. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Asprilla managing to equalize, at 81 minutes 1-1. Los Angeles in turn, then responded just before the final whistle, grabbing the lead with an effort from Bouanga. The match ended with a 2-1 win for Los Angeles.

Substitutions for Portland included Chará, Williamson, Blanco and Nathan for Niezgoda, Paredes, Moreno and Župarić, respectively. Los Angeles brought on Opoku, Blessing, Bale, Tello and Ibeagha, to replace Vela, Cifuentes, Arango, Ilie and Bouanga.

There were bookings for Paredes and Župarić from Portland, and Segura and Blessing, for Los Angeles.
