Portland 3-0 Colorado: The Timbers rout the Rapids at Providence Park

Portland Timbers beated Colorado Rapids 3-0 on Sunday at Providence Park. As the table looks today, both teams are on 19 points and occupy 10th and 11th places respectively after 23 matches.

The Timbers didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Blanco opened the rout just before halftime

Portland started the second half with an intensified spirit, when Niezgoda found the net at the 54 minute mark. Portland then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Niezgoda at the 62 minute mark with a final score of 3-0.

Substitutions for Portland included Williamson, Asprilla, Mcgraw, Nathan and David Ayala for Paredes, Chará, Blanco, Niezgoda and Chará, repectively. COLO brought on Rodriguez, Lucas Esteves, Max and Dantouma Toure, to replace Yarbrough, Kaye, Barrios and Jonathan Lewis.

There were bookings for Chará from Portland. For COLO, Yarbrough, Lucas Esteves and Dantouma Toure saw yellow.
