Philadelphia Union 6-0 Houston: Six of the best for Philly against the Orange Crush

Philadelphia Union cruise to win vs. Houston Dynamo 6-0 on Sunday at Subaru Park. Following today’s result, Union and Houston currently occupy 1st and 11th spots in the table, with 45 points and 25 points respectively after 32 matches.

Union started the first half well, when Gazdag opened the rout, at 23 minutes. The momentum was now with Union, who then scored again through a goal from Jack Mcglynn at the 41 minute mark to establish a 2-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Uhre just before halftime. The score at half time was 3-0.

Union started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early 2nd effort from Uhre in the 48th minute. The momentum was now with Union, who then scored again through a goal from Carranza, 55 minutes in to establish a 5-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Sullivan just before the final whistle to make it 6-0.

Substitutions for Union included Burke, Bueno, Aaronson and Sullivan for Uhre, Bedoya, Gazdag and Carranza, repectively. Houston brought on Nelson, Dorsey, Pasher, Quintero and Cerén, to replace Steve Clark, Zeca, Sebastián Ferreira, Carrasquilla and Vera.

There were bookings for Leon Flach from Union. For Houston, Vera, Steres, Cerén and Dorsey saw yellow.

Houston and Union will next play away to Vancouver Whitecaps and Cincinnati respectively.
